What is Lugo Bots?

Lugo Bots is a programming competition where participants design autonomous AI agents, or 'bots', to play a simplified, virtual version of soccer.

Programmers can choose from multiple supported programming languages to write code that controls their bots' movements, strategies, and decision-making. Lugo Bots combines AI, algorithms, and optimization, challenging participants to refine their code through iterative development and real-time match feedback.

Our History

Lugo Bots began as an experimental project designed to provide a hands-on platform for exploring parallelism and concurrency techniques. The concept of a game emerged as a way to create a challenging environment where these skills were essential, allowing algorithms to be tested under intense conditions.

What started as a functional project soon became a passion for the founder, who continued refining the code for fun. Over time, the project attracted users and gained popularity, culminating in the first official Lugo Bots tournament in 2023. By 2024, the addition of sponsors provided the encouragement and resources needed to propel the project to new heights, transforming it into the vibrant competition it is today.
